My last post! Heck yes.

I guess most people would want their last post to be wonderful, but this one probably won't be. I learned in business today that investing isn't really as hard as it seems, and if you start investing young, you can make a lot of money by the time you're 40 or 50. That seems awesome to me, but then again you have to have money to invest. You can even start investing with $25/ month, which isn't that much if you think about what you can buy with that because the value of the American dollar has gone down so much. These days you can barely by a pair of pants or a shirt with $25, so if you just give up one of those things a month, you can invest. I will probably start investing this summer because i will be working 90 hours per paycheck, so i will have money i can set aside. I will also be getting a refund check every semester of about $1200 if i keep my scholarships so i can also invest that. I guess this is all i have to say so i hope my blog hasn't been too boring.

Fad Diets

I love how people go on fad diets and then after they lose the weight they want to, they go back to eating what they want and then they gain the weight back again. Fad diets are just a good way to sucker people into spending money on a certain product so the smarter person gets richer. People should just stick to their food pyramid and diet if they want to lose weight. It's that simple. Sure, it takes more effort than just grabbing something on the go because you may have to cook something, but people would probably enjoy life more if they slowed down to enjoy it. Most people just keep going 90-nothing all the time so they never have time to enjoy anything until it's too late and they're so old they can't go do the things they always wanted to. Just slow down.

Mass Media

The mass media is nice, it helps get news out and other important things and television shows that everyone loves, but the magazines are kind of ridiculous. The magazines like Star, and National Enquirer are entertaining maybe the first few times you read them, but they run the same stuff over and over. They talk about Britney Spears and how she's crazy, Jamie Lynn Spears and how she's too young to be knocked up and on Nickelodeon, and celebrity divorces. Honestly, who really cares?? That's their business and i'm sure we wouldn't like it if our business was all over the place all the time. They're people too, but I guess they asked for it when they got into the business of being in the limelight all the time. Maybe people read these because their lives aren't exciting enough - just like people that gossip all the time.

42 entries

Okay, so i have no idea what to write about now. I think I've written about everything that somewhat matters. maybe if i had done these entries 3 times a week like we were supposed to, i would have more to write about. I didn't have time to write in this thing 3 times a week because of so much work from other teachers.. i.e. Dr. Stengel. Bah Humbug. My roommate and i are watching Golden Girls and this show is hilarious. I love it, but i especially love Reba. That show cracks me up. This entry probably won't be very long, because i'm rambling and i don't know what to talk about, but i really need an A for my scholarship, so I'm going to figure out something to talk about.

What i hated about my paper

I hated a lot of things about my paper. Global warming is a very VERY broad topic so first it was hard to narrow it down and figure out what i wanted to say in the paper. After i figured that out, i made an outline of all the information i wanted to find and i did for the most part. There was more information about the effects of global warming rather than the cause of it, but i still managed to find information. The National Geographic website has a ton of information about it, and it's very interesting. I know that one person can make a difference and i really want to make a difference concerning global warming but i have no clue where i would start because it's not just an American phenomenon, it's worldwide, and i don't speak every language in the world. A lot of people probably want to help but it's just hard to know where to get started.

Obesity in America

I bet Americans wouldn't be so fat if fast food restaurants weren't so accessible and fairly cheap. Americans blame being fat on the fast food places, but i'm pretty sure those places didn't drag them to their store and make them eat the food. I know my Sonic that i work at wouldn't because most of the customers are rude and don't tip so why would we want those people at our Sonic. Working in fast food sucks unless you have friends there and you make it fun. Sometimes you just have to work crappy jobs to get to better ones, but everything usually works out.

One thing i really hate about working in fast food is that customers treat you like you're stupid, like you're doing that for a living for the rest of your life. I'm pretty sure most people with good jobs these days had to work at a job they didn't like and one that wasn't very prestigious, so everyone needs to realize they have been there, done that before.

Gas prices

Gas prices are absolutely ridiculous. i have a job in jacksonville and i'm about to start riding my bike the whole way because there's no reason for these prices to be so high besides the fact that the gas companies know we will have to pay whatever price they set because we're so reliant on getting places in our cars. Central Arkansas or even all of Arkansas should get a better mass transportation system. If you think about it, the majority of people in Arkansas are middle class and poor and definitely don't have the money for gas at these prices, but if they could pay a flat fee for a bus pass or a subway pass, that would be a lot more beneficial. Gas prices can also almost force someone to live on campus because it's going to get really expensive to commute from jacksonville or little rock to conway. The money for gas and the money for a dorm will probably even out, so either way, you pay an arm and a leg for college (after tuition and fees).
